On July 24, 2025, Borderlands Leadership School successfully facilitated a one-day Team Building Program based on Change Management at the serene Soaltee Westend Resort in Nagarkot. The program aimed to strengthen collaboration, deepen understanding of organizational transformation, and align the team with CRS Nepal’s evolving strategic direction.

The day began with a scenic journey from CRS Nepal office, offering participants a chance to connect informally. Upon arrival, a light breakfast and warm hospitality set a relaxed and open tone for the day. The opening session featured inspiring remarks from the Human Resources Manager and Country Manager, who emphasized the importance of embracing change, strengthening communication, and working together toward shared goals. The Operations Manager provided a safety briefing to ensure smooth flow of the day’s events.

Facilitators from Borderlands Mr. Ajay Pun and Mr. Sanjeev Pandey led engaging indoor activities that included icebreakers, energizers, and reflection exercises. Mr. Anil Chitrakar guided the team through thought-provoking discussions on change management, stressing that transformation begins with mindset, curiosity, and collaboration. Participants explored ideas around efficiency, adaptability, and the role of deep listening in achieving sustainable change.

Outdoor experiential activities such as “Toxic Waste,” “Magic Carpet,” and “Don’t Lose Your Marbles” challenged teams to work together under pressure, solve problems creatively, and reflect on their communication and leadership dynamics. These sessions connected practical challenges to broader organizational learning goals.

The afternoon sessions allowed for deeper personal reflection and team alignment. Activities like the “mission match” highlighted the shared values among diverse team members. Mr. Chitrakar expanded on macro and micro change, using national and organizational examples to show how constraints can fuel innovation. The discussions encouraged participants to shift their perspectives and focus on solutions rather than limitations.

The final indoor session focused on translating change management concepts into actionable strategies. Participants explored themes such as time-goal alignment, risk mitigation, resource mapping, and the power of collective insight. In group discussions, teams reflected on three key questions: What do we have? What is the vision? What is directing us? These reflections tied together the day’s learning and offered a framework for moving forward.

The program concluded with a reflection circle, certificate distribution, and a shared sense of renewed purpose. Energized and aligned, participants left with a stronger connection to one another and a deeper commitment to supporting CRS Nepal’s journey of transformation.
